The Appeals Committee is an authority of the University of Bern (Art. 34 (1)(g) of the University Act of September 5, 1996 [UniG]). As an internal administrative justice authority (Art. 136 (1) of the University Ordinance of September 12, 2012 [UniV]), it is independent from the other University bodies and not bound by their directives (Art. 2 (2) Regulations).
